What happens at the end of my commitment period?

At the end of your commitment period your monthly payments will continue as normal, until you upgrade to a new plan, switch to Pay as you go or SIM only, or cancel your contract. We’ll notify you by text or email when you near the end of your commitment period to explain your options.

Your contract end date is usually different to your upgrade eligibility date, and can be found in My Vodafone or the My Vodafone app. This is not necessarily the same as your upgrade date – as your contract may allow you to upgrade at an earlier date.

You’ll find a range of great upgrade deals to choose from. Alternatively, if you’re happy with your current phone, a SIM only plan may offer you a better deal.

Please note: you may not need to wait until the end date to upgrade.

  • If you’re a Pay monthly customer with a Red Essential, Red Extra or Red Entertainment plan, a Flexi upgrade lets you upgrade after six months with an early upgrade fee.
  • If you’re a SIM only customer with a 12-month bundle, a Flexible upgrade lets you upgrade to any Vodafone Pay monthly phone plan after three months
