How do I change my name or title?

If you’ve changed your name or title, the easiest way to let us know is by filling in our name change form. If it’s your name you’re changing, make sure you upload the right proof of identity document.

If it’s just your title you’re changing – you want to be known as Ms or Mx for example – you don’t need to prove your identity.  

Just so you know, if you need us to, we can also help support your Gender Recognition Certificate application. Simply complete our living as me form

When will my name or title change? 

Once we’ve got your completed form, we’ll aim to make the change within 5 working days. 

We’ll send you an email to confirm it’s all done – or if we need more info we’ll get in touch.

If you can’t provide the details we’ve asked for in the form, start a chat with us – we’ll see what we can do.
