If you think someone has got into your Vodafone account, or a Vodafone account has been set up in your name without your permission, you need to let us know.
Report it online
Before you do anything else, ask yourself:
- Could this have been you?
- Could someone else have made the change – a family member perhaps?
If the answer is no and you suspect someone has gained access to your account without permission – don’t panic. Let us know as soon as possible so that we can take steps to protect your information.
You can also call our fraud team free on 0333 304 2897 – our phone lines are open Monday to Friday, 8am to 10pm and Saturday to Sunday, 8am to 8pm. If you call outside of these hours, you can request a call back.
When you’re asked for the reason you’re calling, say ‘fraud’ and this will put you straight through to the right team.
What happens next?
Once you’ve told us about the suspected fraud:
- We'll investigate new cases immediately – seven days a week
- You'll hear back from us within the next seven days, or even earlier if the issue is affecting your Vodafone service
If you've experienced fraud elsewhere, like your bank account or credit card, make sure you contact your provider as soon as possible.
You can also report an incident to Action Fraud – the UK’s national reporting centre for fraud and cybercrime. Report an incident directly to Action Fraud
