How do I change WiFi channels to help improve my broadband speed?

You can change your WiFi channels and other router settings in the Vodafone Broadband app, or a web browser.  

Using your phone, and the Vodafone Broadband app:

  1. Download the Vodafone Broadband app 
  2. Pair the app to your router
  3. Choose My WiFi then WiFi Channels:
  • iOS: Try channels 1 - 13 and choose the best one
  • Android: Select the channel with the lowest number

Using your computer, via web browser (Vox 2.5 and older): 

  1. Connect your device to the router with an Ethernet cable or your WiFi connection, as long as it doesn’t drop out
  2. Open a new web page and enter 192.168.1.1
  3. Log in using your router password. If you haven’t created one, use vodafone
  4. Choose Expert Mode in the top right of the screen
  5. Pick WiFi from the red banner
  6. Select WiFi Settings from the tab on the left
  7. You will now be able to change WiFi channels (1, 6 and 11 are recommended)

Make sure you try different channels and monitor for at least 24 hours on each channel to understand which is best for you.
