What's the difference between 4G and 5G?

5G is the next generation of mobile technology and gives faster speeds, less buffering and more reliability than 4G.

5G speeds are around five times faster than 4G. This means you could download a full HD movie in as little as three minutes.

Latency, or lag, is much lower – down from an average of 75 milliseconds on 4G, to around 8 milliseconds on 5G.

5G has more bandwidth than 4G which means there's more capacity to use data. So if you're in a crowded area, there's much less struggle to get signal with 5G.
