I'm having problems setting up a mobile hotspot

If you're having problems setting up a personal hotspot or tethering to other devices, you can troubleshoot the problem in our device guides. Choose the make and model of your device and go to Connectivity.

These are the most common easy fixes:

Restart your device

Sometimes just turning a device off and on again can fix a problem.

Check your device supports it

Some devices can't be used for tethering or as personal hotspots. Check if yours can in our device guides

Remember that some manufacturers have different names for tethering or personal hotspots, such as USB tethering or internet sharing.

Check you have enough signal

You need good 4G or 5G data signal.

Find the signal strength in your area, and any temporary or unexpected network issues that may be affecting you on our network status checker

Check your mobile internet works

Turn off WiFi and make sure you can connect to mobile data. 

If you can't and you have signal showing, check you've correctly Set up your phone for internet in the Connectivity section of our device guides

If you're tethering, check you've installed your device

If you're trying to connect your device to a laptop or computer using a USB cable, you need to make sure it's installed correctly.
