Why does Vodafone restrict access to certain websites?

We’re committed to protecting our younger customers from accessing adult content that’s unsuitable for them. We and other mobile service providers utilise website classification as performed by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) when identifying whether a website is suitable for those under the age of 18 or not.

Age-restricted content control is our network bar that blocks content unsuitable for under 18s – such as erotica, violence, discrimination, drugs or crime content – from being accessed over our mobile network. You can remove or add the content control bar within My Vodafone.

If you’re using Vodafone Secure Net, access to age-restricted websites is controlled through the Secure Net App (for iOS or Android), or our online portal

Please note: If the device connects through Wi-Fi, unsuitable content may still be available and can be managed through your broadband provider.
