How do I get Wi-Fi on my device when I’m out and about?

Many public places, such as cafés and coffee shops, provide free Wi-Fi for their customers. To connect, first ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on your device. Next, search for the network you want to join from the list of those available. Most networks are password-protected, so you’ll need to have the password before you can join.

BT has a nationwide network of wireless hotspots which anyone can pay to use. However, many Vodafone Pay monthly plans come with a monthly Wi-Fi allowance which you can use at any BT hotspot, and providing you stay within your limit, there’s no extra charge. To check if your plan includes BT Wi-fi, log in to My Vodafone or use the My Vodafone app. Choose your Pay monthly mobile number and then go to Services and extras.

Note: If you’re a Pay as you go customer you’ll need to pay to access BT Wi-fi hotspots

You can connect your device to Wi-Fi when you’re in range (typically 60 to 100 metres) of a hotspot. You can use the My Vodafone app to find your nearest hotspot.

If your plan has a monthly Wi-Fi allowance, you can also connect to Wi-Fi across 150 London Underground stations

Log in to My Vodafone to check whether it’s part of your plan.
