How do I get Wi-Fi on my device when I’m out and about?

Many public places, such as cafes and coffee shops, provide free Wi-Fi for their customers. To connect, first ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on your device. Next, search for the network you want to join from the list of those available. Most networks are password-protected, so you’ll need to have the password before you can join.

BT has a nationwide network of wireless hotspots which anyone can pay to use. However, many Vodafone Pay monthly plans come with a monthly Wi-Fi allowance which you can use at any BT hotspot, and providing you stay within your limit, there’s no extra charge. Log in to My Vodafone to check whether it’s part of your plan.

Note: If you’re a Pay as you go customer you’ll need to pay to access BT Wi-fi hotspots

You can connect your device to Wi-Fi when you’re in range (typically 60 to 100 metres) of a hotspot. You can use the My Vodafone app to find your nearest hotspot.

If your plan has a monthly Wi-Fi allowance, you can also connect to Wi-Fi across 150 London Underground stations
