Why is my broadband speed slow and how can I improve it?

Your broadband speed can be affected by a number of factors. Follow these steps to improve the speed of your home broadband:

Step 1: Your environment
Check your router is plugged into the master socket – this is the main socket where the phone line enters your home. 
Your router should also be one foot away from electrical items and the wall.

Step 2: Your bandwidth
Switch off devices which aren’t in use to free up bandwidth – you can check which devices are in use in the Vodafone Broadband app

Step 3: Your Wi-Fi channels
Vodafone Wi-Fi has two frequencies, 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. 2.4Ghz is an old version of Wi-Fi which has 13 channels that overlap. If there are too many connections on the same channel your Wi-Fi will slow down. To change Wi-Fi channels, follow our Changing Wi-Fi Channels guide.
